“Confession of a Manipuri living outside ” I was reading some of the comments posted on Vijita’s column titled Manipuris once upon a time. I need to share one thing to all those self righteous, judgmental snobs that living outside has nothing to do with a better lifestyle. it’s all about survival for fittest--reality bites but it is the fact. How great it would be if people start rendering their words through action so as to redeem from the vice of being just a wordy wiser.Honestly speaking I have no peace of mind staying outside but what really are the options, where is the silver lining? We are living in a society where subversion is the sole language, where action is just a fallacy as corruption speaks louder. Wrapped up in oneself-what a tragedy! Well, I do miss my home every single day and yes one day I will be back when the time is ripe. But stop judging people living outside coz reality is not as flowery as it can get. I feel that us Manipuri are very well endowed and talented individual, but the tragic reality is much of our talents are either drained outside or wasted within (Those who can’t pay corrupt official to get a job). To all those who really love this beautiful land I’ve one question, why are we (including myself) so silent and tolerant about corruption in our state which is acting as the biggest deterrent factor for individual growth as well as societal?
