Congratulations to #ISRO team and made India proud by its #Mangalyan success in its maiden attempt to place #MOM on the Martian orbit Indian scientists proved again that they could design, develop and deploy the system which can orbit the MARS on its first maiden attempt which are hither to unknown to Indian scientific experience. ISRO technologically proved that it is able to wake up an 300 days idled Liquid Apogee engine (LAM) amidst of speculation that it may fail due to the corrosive nature of the fuel used. And also ensured that it is able to send signals to correct the trajectory to get the MOM placed in an orbit with a periapsis (closest point to Mars) of 423 km and an apoapsis (farthest point) of 80,000 km. Even though we are 3rd nation, but India is a first nation, in its first attempt succeeded to place MOM after crossing 650 million km and place 377-423 km closest distance from MARS. Where as USA failed in its first 6 attempts. ISRO did it 1/10th of its cost compared to USAs #MAVEN (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution).
