Congressman Schraders staff contacted us today and they have completed the rough draft of our Naval Air Facility Atsugi Japan healthcare bill for the base personnel and families that were stationed at NAF Atsugi between the years 1985-2001. After our bill is given an official H.R. number we will all have to prepare for the real battle because this is only the first step in a long journey that a bill must undergo. For this healthcare bill to pass it will require every member to contact your Congresspeople and Senators and we will also need you to send what ever cut and paste letters that we provide you to your officials in Washington D.C. We all must become politically active because our 2010 bill didnt even make it out of the Senate Committee last time so this may be our last chance to get healthcare for our Atsugi veterans and family members who desperately need it after being exposed to over 200 different chemicals including dioxins (the same chemical in Agent Orange). We will keep you posted when this bill is designated with an official H.R. number so please start writing your letters now so we can get the ball rolling as soon as possible.
