Construction set to begin on 2013 water pipeline replacement Construction will begin next week on the 2013 water pipeline replacement project. The scope of work for this capital improvement project is the installation of 8,300 linear feet of 8-inch pipeline and the resurfacing of selected streets and associated concrete work. Streets that will be impacted by this work include Jasper Avenue between San Bernardino Avenue and Capri Avenue, College Avenue and Campus Avenue between Grove Street and Judson Street, Brookdale Drive from Brookside Avenue to the cul-de-sac, Barbra Lane, Occidental Drive, Devon Place and portions of Doyle Avenue. These pipelines are being replaced due to age and frequency of leaks. Construction on this project will begin the week of Aug. 12 and be completed in November 2013. Parking may be restricted on the affected streets during the duration of construction. Affected residents will have access to their property. Construction activities are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Signs will be posted 72 hours in advance of repaving indicating parking restrictions. The City Council awarded the contract for construction of the project to MCC Equipment Rentals, Inc. on July 16. The project is funded by water revenues. No General Fund dollars will be used to construct this project. The project was designed by and will be managed by the City of Redlands Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department.
