Continuing the Indian woman professional series, here is a somewhat practical video done by AVTAR I-WIN, which encourages mapping careers after taking breaks.Advice for moms too although it skims the job market surface. And flattens domestic realities.Beyond policies etc., I do think many many women are entering workplaces and demanding more intelligent conversations around work practices. Some are good professionals, some lousy or bossy and selfish. In my own family of cousins, some women are working to earn and support the family kitty, some returning to being first time breadwinner, primary or otherwise. Some supported with child rearing and home jobs, some not. So while each case is different with ever changing circumstances, one thing is common. Theyve all kept the family at the centre of decision making. Not their egos. And I do think there is a lesson there for men who refuse to change and like to be in charge. When things are fluid, a mature response is to adapt. I personally am now comfortable, with being the eternal outsider, because I dont quite function around organizational career paths tightly, have always taken long breaks and am neither interested in marrying, nor in having children. Somewhere between passion, learning and financially looking out for myself is fine with me. Avtar by the way specialises in placing women in some business sectors. In their own way, they are opening up the space too. See their Fb page. Meanwhile, watch
