Contrary to my public image of carefully cultivated personal - TopicsExpress

Contrary to my public image of carefully cultivated personal perfection, not everything I do is a success. Yesterday I killed a saguaro cactus in Parker, Arizona. I mangled the trunk in an effort to extract it for transplanting. The last time I did something like this was in 2004, way back when I was a mere rookie seedling and had just entered the business of relocating large plants. That was when through a combination of simple ignorance and inadequately developed moving protocols I ended up twisting and breaking the trunk of an enormous, healthy saguaro that I had then paid $750 for. That experience led to me grasp the physics of moving these large and ironically fragile giants and develop methods of handling them, which Ive used successfully ever since. Until now. But let me explain. This time was different and my moving methodology failed for reasons that were somewhat beyond my control. Click on each the 5 photos to read about what went wrong and why....
