Cook - Factory Industry: Hospitality Industry Location: Kiambu Salary: Ksh 20,000 - 30,000 gross Our client is a start up milk processing factory based in Kagwe, Kiambu County. They seek to hire a Cook for the factory. The main role is to prepare all sorts of meals at the factory Duties & Responsibilities Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items Operate boilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment. Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served Knows and complies consistently with the standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures. Stock and maintains sufficient levels of food products Ensure a smooth service period. Portions food prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications Maintains a clean and sanitary work station Prepares item for boiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods Portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating food items Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes. Handle, store and rotate all products properly. Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
