Cool facts about some of my coworkers (I will only use initials in order to protect identities): 1. V is from Washington DC, starred in a couple episodes of the Cosby Show, and has seen Matt Dillon in the buff. 2. P hails from Boston, plays in a local band and performs numerous gigs at packed houses around West Lake... got to hear his band perform last night... they were awesome. 3. T is from New Zealand and is planning to adopt a child soon... very very very cool. 4. C is a hard core runner (from Canada?) and I think we are running together this weekend... hope I can keep the pace. 5. A is a Razorback and one of the coolest dudes Ive ever met and has taught in Alaska, Arkansas, Thailand, Vietnam, and even lived as a homeless person for a year... on purpose to see what it was like to be homeless. 5. A is from the states, she is 26 and has lived/taught in Thailand and cooks the best Curry I have ever tasted. 6. M is a killer art teacher from the US but is leaving the profession to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. 7. A and B, from South Carolina and Australia respectively, just found out they are pregnant and expecting a little one by the time school starts next year. 8. T is our IT guy (from Vietnam) and is headed to the Maldives for Spring break... says he wants to see the islands before they sink? Gonna have to look into that one... 9. P is our fearless leader, she is from Connecticut. She is traveling to Istanbul for Spring break and is leaving us for Beijing next year... sad but yet another place we have to go visit now! 10. N is from South Africa and serves as our liaison between teachers and admin. She has cojones the size of Dallas and is not afraid or intimidated by anyone. She has been stuck in the UK for the past two months due to Visa issues... she is meeting me for lunch today. All in all, Id say we are a tight knit group of misfits who seem to always come together in the end and get it done. Love my new family of teachers and the diversity each brings to the table. Oh yeah, I almost forgot: T is from Oklahoma and has the most years of teaching experience at St Paul American School Hanoi. He has taught in OK, NM, Korea, Kuwait, Dubai, and now Vietnam. He loves to run and hang out in Old Quarter... hes kind of boring if you ask me. He just got a scooter and thinks hes badass but we dont say anything, whatever makes him happy.
