Cop charged for alleged murder of Moana Pisimi By Julianna Waeda, PNG Loop, 21 Jan 2015 The main suspect in the shooting death of Moana Pisimi on New Year’s Day in Lae city has been arrested and charged yesterday afternoon. Lead investigator and Director of the Criminal Investigation Directorate, Peter Guinness, confirmed with PNG Loop that the suspect is a police officer who was brought in by investigators in the morning. The suspect was questioned by investigators and officially arrested and charged with murder in the afternoon. Lae’s acting Metropolitan police commander Chief Inspector Thomas Pomaso said the policeman is now under police custody awaiting court appearance. Pomaso named the suspect as first constable Jack Baria from Madang. Meanwhile, Guinness and his team are expected to fly back to Port Moresby tomorrow to finalise their report on the investigations.
