This is an essential role providing a media management service and specialised communications expertise to support the Constabulary’s policing priorities. You will be raising awareness and understanding of the excellent work that the Constabulary does to tackle and prevent crime and anti-social behaviour, whilst maintaining and improving the levels of public confidence. To develop and maintain an effective pro-active relationship with the media that supports the objectives of the Constabulary. To manage, develop and advise the Constabulary at all levels, on all aspects of communications, and liaise with the media to ensure that the Constabulary’s reputation is managed and maintained. CCTV OPERATOR – V58 Based in the Communications Centre, Police Headquarters, Penrith The closing date is 12 noon, Monday 26 January 2015. 37 Hours - see Shift Pattern enclosed Scale 2 - £16,185 to £16,968 (plus enhancement for Shift Working and rostered weekend working) An exciting project between the PCC, Cumbria Constabulary and district councils has been undertaken to create and develop a new county-wide CCTV system. This system involves best-of-breed technology which will be administered and monitored by a Dedicated Monitoring Unit at HQ. As a result of this, new CCTV Operator roles have been created within the Dedicated Monitoring Unit to operate the system and perform a pivotal role in identification, investigation and prosecution of criminal offences.
