Current and former students - job opportunity Motorsport Graduate Wiring Harness Design Engineer (F/T, £26,000 - £30,000, Surrey, UK) High Performance Motorsport team seeks an Electrical Design Engineer (Wiring harness). The role will involve electrical design of race car harnessing. Primarily this will take the form of writing and issuing wiring schedules but may also require use of electronics design tools such as ORCAD and mechanical design tools such as CATIA. The role will be part of our electronics design team and will work alongside senior electronic and electrical engineers to deliver projects to meet the functional requirements of engineering customers and on schedule for race car delivery. You must be able to demonstrate a desire and enthusiasm for electrical wiring design and a commitment to develop in this role for two years. My client has a proven track record of developing talent and offering long-term careers with the organisation. As the Electrical Design Engineer (Wiring harness) your accountabilities will include but not limited to: • Working within the electronics design team to translate requirements into electrical specifications. • Wiring harness design • Harness engineering using CATIA CAD tools • Liaison with mechanical designers to help them route harnesses and define break positions • Technical support of in-house production and harness manufacturing subcontractors • Systems testing and fault diagnosis • Production of high quality documentation • Communication and coordination with key contributors (e.g. mechanical designers and software engineers) to deliver projects to specification and timescale. The Electrical Design Engineer (Wiring harness) will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience: • A degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. • 1 years experience designing electrical harnessing, ideally within Automotive/Motorsport industry would be prefered. • Good all round knowledge of connectors and harnessing materials.
