D-DAY UPDATE: The diplomatic dance of pecking order and politesse is causing major headaches at the Ceremony. Who comes down the red carpet first? Why? It turns out its the least important first (Ukraine followed by Denmark…) leading up to the heavy hitters, a bit like the Oscars. Barack refuses to speak to Vlad, who ostentatiously meets `privately` with the brand new prez. of Ukraine, while the Queen sits stalwartly in the middle to break up the hostilities at lunch. She`s 88 now and Prince Philip is 95. Presidents of France then and now, Holland, Sarkozy and Giscard dEstaing waltz around each other bowing and scraping, garnering brownie points for the future. Its a beautiful day, and the weather is perfect.
