DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT 03-04-2014 LIVING UNDER GOD’S GRACE By Fred Trokie The discourse found in Titus 2:11-14 provides important precepts and commands for believers as they wait for the Pretribulation rapture of the church. Titus 2:11-14 11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. Verse 11-12 Maybe you have thought that Gods grace was only available for salvation and nothing more. We always refer to Ephesians 2:8-9 which scripturally reveals that we are saved by grace and not by works. But did you know that grace is also very much involved in our daily lives and our spiritual walk with God? Verse 11-12 tells us that the grace of God has appeared which instructs us to deny certain things. We are to deny: 1. Ungodliness 2. Worldly Desires Instead we are to live 1. Sensibly 2. Righteously 3. Godly Verse 13 says that we are to be looking for the Blessed Hope, (which is the actual “Pretrib Rapture of the Church”), the appearing of our God and Savior Jesus Christ, while we live sensibly, righteously, and godly. Verse 14 tells us that Christ Himself is currently purify us (progressive sanctification), for His own possession (His Bride), and while He does this we are to be actively participating in the good works which God prepared beforehand which we should be constantly walking in. Ephesians 2:10 says: 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. These works or not the cause of our salvation, but the result of our salvation. We are saved by grace. Ephesians 2:8-9 says: 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. However in regards to our daily walk with God, 2 Corinthians 9:8 says: And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. God Bless - Fred
