DDC reviews performance under district plan SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 10- District Development Commissioner Samba, R.K Varma on Tuesday chaired a meeting held to review the performance of various departments under district plan. It was revealed that against the availability of Rs.18.56 crore the funds to the tune of Rs 10.55 crore have been expended till ending August 2013 which makes 57% of the expenditure against the available amount. During the meeting, expenditure under various sectors vis-à-vis physical achievements up to ending August, 2013 was reviewed. It was informed that progress under ,Power, Rural Sanitation, Self Employment and MG-NREGA has been found satisfactory. Under Special Area Programme, Gujjar and Bakerwal Component has registered 53% of expenditure while as Welfare of SC & OBC has registered 90% of expenditure against the availability. DDC directed the concerned officers to achieve the targets and ensure the distribution of scholarships among the students timely. The progress of construction works under NABARD, Health, Education, PHE, Fisheries and Agriculture etc. was also reviewed. The Executive Engineer, PWD(R&B), PO (DRDA) and the officers of Rural Development Department were impressed upon to gear up their staff to accelerate the speed of work so as to complete the schemes/works within stipulated time. DDC stressed upon that district officers to conduct extensive tour of the project sites for monitoring of works at ground level besides ensuring quality and timely completion of works. He also directed the officers of Agriculture, Horticulture and Sericulture departments to assess the needs of farmers and provide them the required inputs timely for improving the production. The progress of construction works on school buildings under district plan, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Madhmik Shiksha Abhiyan was also reviewed in detail and the officers were directed to ensure completion of school buildings, before March, 2014.
