DO MEN HAVE RIGHTS? Sometimes late last year when some ladies were stripped naked, we were given #MyDressMyChoice . These incidents caused an uproar in Kenya where protesters took to the streets in support of these poor ladies. Ladies demonstrated all over the city for their rights in dressing. They gained an immense following with the president and the courts even deciding to hit the perpetrators so hard in order to be a lesson to men. Fast Forward... 15th Jan 2015, a 39-yr old father of 11 in Bungoma endured the humiliation of being circumcized in front of people, after his first wife exposed him following a quarrel. Thousands of people gathered at Chwele market to witness the cut. I just wonder what his children were saying.... its too humiliating. This act left me with more questions than answers... Where are the women who demonstrated in #MyDressMyChoice? We need to see them demonstrate on #MyForeskinMyChoice for this old man who was publicly humiliated. When this man was publicly and forcefully circumcised they are now telling us #GoCutMyHusband. Now ladies are arguing that circumcision is good for our health but... so is decency in a society #MyDressMyChoice. Where are the rights of this man? Is violence against a man not illegal? The Security Laws 2014 made it illegal to insult the decency of another person whose penalty is 10 yrs in prison. I stand that this was gross violation of this Poor Bukusu mans human rights. He needs justice just like those girls did.
