DRIVING BILLBOARDS TO BLIGHT VENICE? Increasingly vehicles painted like billboards are traveling and parking on the streets. Even a Opthamology group has one, raising questions about professional code of behavior and advertising. There is a committee of the City studying this and other signs and they are being pressured not to interfere. What a nightmare if we have dozens or even hundreds of these 4-wheeled billboards polluting Venice, visually. From the Venice Gondolier: "The city’s current sign code doesn’t cover vehicles that have signs on them or that are “wrapped” with an ad. A proposed revision recognizes them but exempts them from regulation during business hours. After hours, they would have to be parked off street in a space farthest from the right of way and not within 250 feet of the property line. But some of the attendees at last week’s Task Force meeting said businesses would have a hard time complying with those standards, and that they would have reasons not to. "
