What they, in fact, do is betray the solemn covenant Yahweh made with Israel. The evil they do shall, therefore, be paid back to them in the same coin, without anybody being there to defend them. Jesus, the prophet par excellence - both in word and his unique lifestyle - pronounces Gods judgement.
