Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings is recruiting candidates to join the GrowSouth Volunteers in Service to America program. The project will hire seven VISTA members to help make a difference in southern Dallas. Each VISTA member will receive $983 a month, plus a $5,500 educational award, options for health benefits, child care benefits, and paid sick leave and vacation. VISTA members will work to reinvigorate underserved neighborhoods; strengthen neighborhood associations; and help develop programs that bring people out of poverty.
