Daniel Hall Jr was originally incarcerated for 2 felony assault charges, 2 child endangerment charges and murder of Jocelyn Runyons while babysitting her and her 3 siblings on October 3, 2013. His bond was at $500,000. January 10, 2014 his bond was reduced to $250,000. On June 24, 2014 Daniels mother, Sue Hall, posted his bail. Tomorrow, Thursday, December 18th, Daniel Hall Jr will be sentenced for his guilty plea of manslaughter and child endangerment on October 20, 2014. He faces a maximum sentence of 14 years. Daniel Hall Jr told authorities several accounts of how 2 year old Jocelyn Runyons sustained her injuries. Hall, in the court documents, said that he attempted to grab the girl as she fled from the bathroom following her bath and knocked her down, causing her to hit her head. Then, he said, she continued to squirm as he lifted her and she slipped from his grasp, hitting her head on the floor a second time. Frustrated, he said, he shook her and she lost consciousness. He said he placed her on a kitchen counter and left for another part of the apartment when he heard a “thud” and found Jocelyn lying on her back on the floor unconscious. Jocelyns cause of death is blunt force trauma. archive.newarkadvocate/article/20131024/NEWS01/310240015/Man-indicted-murder-death-Utica-2-year-old newarkadvocate/story/news/local/2014/10/20/man-pleads-guilty-death-year-old/17603409/
