Day#10 Update: Niels had a pretty good day. We found out today that his brain is holding too much fluid so he is going in for surgery tomorrow afternoon to put in a shunt which is called ventriculoperitoneal shunting. This procedure is used to treat excess cerebrospinal fluid in the brain also known as hydrocephalus. They have to shave his head on one side and insert a tube under the skin behind his ear,down his neck to his chest to his abdomen where the extra fluid will be absorbed. Please pray that the surgery goes well.
