Day 11 - BAYLOR MEDICAL CENTER Yesterday was a pretty good day. Milford felt like sitting up in a chair some instead of staying in the hospital bed all day. The mystery still is no closer to being diagnosed, but the doctors are working hard to find the answer. We had a nice surprise late yesterday afternoon when our great friends, Danny and Carolyn Slaughter, came to see us! Since we had no idea we would be here this long, there were things we needed from home....like some of my medicine, more clothes to wear, etc. They volunteered to bring it to us to check on our status! It was super good to see them. Today has been a pretty good day. We have seen 3 internests (I dont think I have been spelling that right--they are internal medicine specialists), alot of nurses, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, several other specialists and our preacher at First Baptist-Dallas, Bobby Broyles. Blake has asked me several times if Dad is getting bored. The answer is NO....we havent seen this much activity in many years....going and coming all day and night. We even had a doctor come at 9:00 last night when he was just making his rounds! WOW! This is a very busy place! Tomorrow, Milford will have the muscle biopsy done. That will be another huge piece of this puzzle to help with a diagnosis. They have tried for 5 days to get Shannon Hospital in San Angelo to fax a copy of the test that Milford had done at the ER when he got sick in February of 2014. These doctors want to perform the same exact test (either MRI or CT scan) and compare to see if the pulmonary nodule that they found last year has grown. It is really important for them to know that. I dont know what the problem is, I signed a release last Thursday and Baylor faxed it to Shannon at noon that day. One of the doctors came in this morning to have Milford sign the same form to see if that would make it go through. We have not heard anything else. Update: The surgeon who will do the biopsy tomorrow just came in and he will indeed get it done tomorrow morning, but did not tell me a time. He said (and this is the first that I have heard this) that it sometimes takes 2-3 days to send this type of biopsy to pathology to get stained and get the results back. I want to thank everyone of you who have prayed for knowledge and answers for the doctors and peace for us. We have felt the love that people are sending through your messages. Until we get home, I will keep updating our status on facebook. It seems to be a good way to communicate. Love to all, Milford and Jerrie Wiley and Family
