Day 12 Post-Op. Thank you for continuing to send me cheerful - TopicsExpress

Day 12 Post-Op. Thank you for continuing to send me cheerful thoughts, well wishes and funny cards. I enjoy each and every one of them. This total hip replacement surgery is rough on the body not only because a part of the skeletal system is being removed and replaced, but because of the nerves, tendons and muscles that are being cut and reattached. Rehab, I have learned, is a long slow process as my body accepts the titanium replacement parts but also as the muscles, etc, heal, regrow and learn to be useful again. There is no pain, just the aches of stretching and learning to reuse parts. All in all, Im on schedule for healing and recovery but it will be at least a month before I can drive and I am told it will be a year before I am fully functioning normally again, Whatever normal is. :D. Thanks for walking through this with me. Up next: surgical staple removal on Monday and more rehab with Trent during the week. Im getting cabin-fever but eventually, Ill be allowed out...I hope.... ;). Have a terrific Sunday and an amazing week. Hugs from Pam & the 5 kitties!
