Day +87 Great news today! Elis blood virus count from last Thursday is down from 3,300 to 700!! Wow! At the time, he had only had 4 doses of the new medication. They will draw labs tonight to test again. Were so hopeful that this virus wont linger around much longer! Once the virus is gone, we can see what his body will do with the donors bone marrow he received in May. He drank more milk today, but has began throwing it back up many hours later (its an awful smell). It was so much this morning that I had to put the stroller in the shower to clean it up. So, we started a medication to help his tummy digest things faster so that the milk isnt just sitting in his stomach. He will take this until his stomach gets used to working again. He ate some chicken and steamed carrots today, but still isnt swallowing everytime. Its important that we continue offering a variety of foods several times a day so that he gets practice--Its like food therapy! When Tim and I switched out today Eli and Claire were able to get a little closer look at each other since he can come out of his room. It was very hard for both of them. She cried and he fussed because I couldnt let him go closer. Tough times. :-( I took these two pictures today. I tried to get him laughing so you all would believe me that he does in fact laugh and smile. It was blurry, but you can tell. The second picture I couldnt resist taking. He just looked so peaceful while he was sleeping. :-) ♡
