Dear All, British Heart Foundation Kempton Park to Brighton Racecourse 100 km (62 mile) Trek in memory of my Dad who suddenly passed away aged 70 in June 2012. Our Trek started at Kempton Park at 9.15am last Saturday morning and we completed the Trek at 12.30pm Sunday. A total of 27 ¼ Hours ( Estimated 3 hours of Total Breaks taken over 9 Checkpoints) This was the most gruelling and toughest challenge of our lives, we encountered dark woods, shadowy roads and spooky lanes that seemed to go on and on. The physical demands on your body and the emotions we went through will stay in our memories for ever. The last 18kms over the Hilly South Downs(nicknamed by the BHF as Heart Attack Hill) the seafront and the climb to the finishing line was unreal, it was pure adrenalin that was moving our legs. We had blisters, sore calf’s, thigh’s, knees and our legs were shot to pieces. I even hallucinated at one stage seeing a van rolling down a hill when actually it was not moving at all. Thinking of our families, friends and charity’s we were doing this for pulled us through when our moral was at its lowest, I cannot Thank you enough. The huge sense of achievement when we crossed the line seeing all our family and friends makes me feel so proud of what we did as a team. 550 people entered the event and we were told only around 200 completed the challenge. £250,000 in total was raised at the event of which around £5000.00 was raised by my Team of five for the BHF. To raise such an amount in memory of my dad has only been achieved by your kind donations and generosity. I cannot Thank you all enough for all your support. Thank you once again. You can still sponsor me at the following link if you would like to justgiving/john-wooster1 Kind Regards. Colin.
