Dear Daisy, A young girl alone in her room is suddenly startled - TopicsExpress

Dear Daisy, A young girl alone in her room is suddenly startled by a bright light. She jumps back in fright, staring at the window. Then she hears a voice, a voice sweet and pure, telling her something absolutely incredible and fantastic: ...Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High. How can this be, since I have no relations with a man? asks Mary. On hearing the answer she then says, Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word. In that singular moment, Mary agreed to become the vessel through which God would make Himself known to us so that He could save you and me. When Mary said yes, she brought us face to face with God so that we could know Him and love Him on a personal level. How do we respond when someone has given us a gift we never imagined or could have hoped for? I don’t know about you but I tend to get tongue-tied looking for the right words to express my gratitude. And at the same time I feel unworthy of the gift, like what did I do to deserve this. Thanks to Mary, we have no reason to feel unworthy again, ever. May the Word who became flesh dwell deeply in your mind and heart on this Annunciation feast day! In Jesus and Mary, Brother Daniel Korn, C.Ss.R. Redemptorist Missionary of the Denver Province P.S. Do you have a special prayer you say to Mary, or intentions to share? I would love to hear them. Send them to me and I will include them in my personal prayers.
