Dear Friends. We have been so far so good providing some certain information to you concerning Christianity. And we have considered the information very necessary at this time because of the much needed “Revival” or “Genuine –Reawakeness” that most believers have been crying for. This is true because they were no longer seeing the power of God moving in the houses of God as it supposed to be (John 14:12-14)(Acts 13:1-2). And there is no way one can know where to begin to pray unless there is this general understanding on the causes of the distractions, or distortions of the biblical truths. There is no doubt as we can see from too many denominations which were questioning the source of the power of those who are still exercising the authority of the Word of God in their individual ministries. And besides the kissing of Christ Jesus when Judas was about to betray Him: 47 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him. 48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? (Luke 22:47-48). I think that the next place that punches my heart in the Bible is the book of Zacharias chapter one. In this place someone reading from this chapter one will discover that at the end of the 70 years of the captivity of the children of Israel. They have sent some of their people to go and enquire from the Lord through the Prophet, asking him to seek God`s face for them as well as asking Him for the next steps which they must follow to build a better relationship with Him. Because they have been praying and fasting for the past 70 years and nothing seems to happen. Then, the Lord replied them in this manner: 2 The LORD hath been sore displeased with your fathers. 3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. 4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD. 5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live forever? 6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us (Zacharias 1:2-6). The keys words that we would like you to pick up from here unless you have some others that may have interested you, are as follows: Where God had asked them to return unto Me, and stop walking in the footsteps of your fathers who could not listen to the voices of the Prophets. Then and again we see God who was compassionately moving to remind them to think it over again, and they will see that their fathers and all the ancient Prophets have all gone, but the Word of God has steadfastly remained. Then your conclusion maybe as mine, and that would be (referring to our previous messages). People may REDEFINE the Word of God, but nobody that can be able to CHANGE the Word of God. Why is this punching my heart? I want you to read some of the things that we have been preaching to people, and what one will continually be seeing in the net. And before we can comment on this, and some of our previous messages sent to you in the past days. Our question should be, why is the Church against “Legalism? Are these messages against “Legalism working? (Do not forget that everywhere legalism is attacked, it is in the context of morality.)If they are working why is the Christianity losing this spiritual warfare? In one of the Christian websites where I normally blog, after witnessing some of the current affairs I have asked what are we teaching our people in the Churches? Is it the Word of God or the Values? Please read on and remember us in your prayers. Question: "What does the Bible say about legalism? How can a Christian avoid falling into the trap of legalism?" Answer: The word “legalism” does not occur in the Bible. It is a term Christians use to describe a doctrinal position emphasizing a system of rules and regulations for achieving both salvation and spiritual growth. Legalists believe in and demand a strict literal adherence to rules and regulations. Doctrinally, it is a position essentially opposed to grace. Those who hold a legalistic position often fail to see the real purpose for law, especially the purpose of the Old Testament law of Moses, which is to be our “schoolmaster” or “tutor” to bring us to Christ (Galatians 3:24) Even true believers can be legalistic. We are instructed, rather, to be gracious to one another: “Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters” (Romans 14:1) The apostle Paul warns us of legalism in Colossians 2:20-23. To avoid falling into the trap of legalism, we can start by holding fast to the words of the apostle John, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17) and remembering to be gracious, especially to our brothers and sisters in Christ. We will reply or follow this up in the coming days.
