Dear Friends, We just received this amazing poem from a very special guest of Palazzo Avino! With her permission, we are honored to share it with you: I knew Chianti, Umbria and of course Brunello The Isola dElba and the great Limoncello The truffles of Norcia and pasta in Spello But I could only dream one day of visiting Ravello. Palazzo Avino is a jewel on the coast A million miles from our Marmite and toast A wonder of chic, emerald gardens, skies of blue - A myriad of colour - framed by marvellous views. The freshness and colours mixed with antiquities and love Have created this hotel which looks from above Over the magical coast made immortal by films, Glorious mosaics still produced from potteries and kilns. Antonio is the Godfather who looks after all Mariella the soul, forever on call Donato the face of the food we all love And Michele whose food surely comes from above? They said Mount Olympia was the home of the gods For them to lose one - what were the odds? Palazzo Avino was lucky - for he fell from the sky To create the delicacies for mere mortals such as I! To wake up and open your curtains to the view Sunshine strewn like diamonds over a sea so blue Green mountains and lemon groves and a fresh sea breeze Palazzo Avino seems to exist just to please. Taking the boat to Positano on limpid waters of blue Caves and Grottos full of colours and hues Still made me think after my last Limoncello I cant wait to return to Ravishing Ravello! So thank you Mariella for sharing your dream For Theresa for the invitation - the girls you were a scream For Francesco and Daniele and Jaqueline and all We had such a good time - we all had a ball. Now at BA check-in the man is not a good fellow, As he looks at my bag - just FULL of Ravello Linen and shoes and the blue donkey that is funny, Is not making him smile as he wants some more money. Why does he moan about kilos and fines My case is about experience and souvenirs of great times - I think I need a little drink, a teeny weeny limoncello And to quietly go back in my head to Ravello! Grazie Jules Maury! You truly touched our heart and the Poem is amazing! Mariella & The Team Palazzo Avino
