(KTLA) — Drivers were warned to prepare for some traffic tie-ups on Tuesday as President Barack Obama visits the Los Angeles area. Air Force One was expected to touch down at LAX at 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the White House schedule. President Obama to make his sixth ‘Tonight Show’ appearance (NBC Universal) Obama was scheduled to tape “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” at NBC Studios in Burbank at 4:30 p.m. It will be his sixth appearance on the show and his third as president. Officials never provide specific details about the routes the presidential motorcade will take. However, the LAPD advised motorists to avoid the following areas between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.: –Hollywood Way and San Fernando Road; –Hollywood Way and Burbank Boulevard; –Hollywood Way and Alameda Avenue; –West Olive Avenue and Buena Vista; –Sherman Way and Hayvenhurst Avenue; –Victory Boulevard and Canoga Avenue; and –Canoga Avenue and Burbank Boulevard. Obama will spend the night in Los Angeles. It wasn’t clear where he would be staying, but in the past he has stayed at the Beverly Hilton. On Wednesday, the president will head to Camp Pendleton in San Diego County to meet with military families. In anticipation of his departure, police advised drivers to avoid the following areas between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday: –Sherman Way and Hayvenhurst Avenue; –Victory Boulevard and Canoga Avenue; and –Canoga Avenue and Burbank Boulevard.
