Dear Residents, Colleagues and Friends! You may have noticed a few more people than normal hanging and singing from a 30ft structure in the Albany garden this week: this is because SPIN CYCLE, our World Premier of Emergency Exit Art’s new outdoor Musical on the Move has arrived! SPIN CYCLE has been produced for Circulate, the outdoor arts project we’re leading and which will tour to 5 other London venues. Arts Council, England, have been generous with their investment and support to help make it all possible. Firstly, please do come along – flyers and posters are out and about but there’s an e-flyer below which can be forwarded (cut off unnecessary bumph). It’s FREE, suitable for all the family and features young people who have been working on our Summer Arts programme and students from ALRA: SPIN CYCLE THIS Saturday 7th September Giffin Square (in front of the Deptford Lounge) 2.30pm arrival for a 3pm start Duration: 60mins The show will go on come rain or shine (we’ve been checking and Friday will be wet but Saturday clear) and there’ll be a viewing platform and designated area for those who are less able to stand or move about for views. Secondly, there is an opportunity to be more involved - The show has been created for communities like ours and so the more our community can be part of it, the better. This is how you and your staff, participants and artists can get involved: 1. There’ll be an open dress rehearsal in the Albany garden at 2pm THIS Friday 6th (tomorrow). Come down with a cuppa and get a sneaky peak of the action, especially if you can’t make Saturday. If you can make Saturday, then you can also be taught some bits of the show to perform amongst the audience. OR 2. Come along to the Albany at 12.30pm on Saturday 7th September to be taught the dance routine to perform this amongst the audience; there’re other little bits on the moving market stalls you can do too. If you have any questions about being more involved then email me back or (if in the building) ask for me at reception and I’ll do my best to pay you a visit. Really look forward to seeing Albany regulars out in support (and better still, doing the moves ; )). Thank you! Raidene Carter Head of Creative Programmes The Albany
