You only have to do the ONP course and become a UK Registered Nurse after 3 – 6 months WITHOUT having to take a one year or two year ONP-embedded BSc/MSc Nursing degree in the UK. Here are the benefits of doing the Overseas Nurses Programme (ONP) right away instead of taking up an ONP-embedded Bachelors or Masters degree in Nursing in the UK. Please consider the following information for your reference: ONP-only option under a TIER 2 Migrant Visa ONP-embedded BSc and MSc in Nursing under a TIER 4 Student Visa Tier 2 Visa valid for 3 years Tier 4 Visa valid only for the duration of your studies You would be allowed to work full time (37.5 – 60 hours per week). You are only allowed to work part-time during term time (20 hours per week) and full-time during weekends and holidays. As soon as you have a decision letter from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) , you could travel to the UK as early as next month to start the ONP. Even if you already have a decision letter from the NMC, you still have to wait for the intake dates (or the start of classes) before you could travel to the UK. You become a Registered Nurse in the UK after 3 – 6 months and start gaining the full benefits of being employed as one (unlimited working hours, starting annual salary of GBP 21,176 or PHP 1,376,440). You become a Registered Nurse in the UK after doing the ONP (3 - 6 months). However, you still have to attend classes and finish your BSc/MSc course before you can work full time as a UK Registered Nurse. You also have to switch your visa from a Tier 4 to a Tier 2. NO SHOW MONEY REQUIRED when you apply for a Tier 2 visa. This will be shouldered by the sponsor of the COS. The show money required would be equal to the total monthly living cost (GBP 800 – 1,000 per month or PHP 56,000 – 70,000 per month) plus the remaining tuition fee. The total would be higher than GBP 7,200 or PHP 504,000 for one year plus the amount of the remaining tuition fee. The money should be in your account for at least 28 days. Free accommodation before commencement date You would have to pay for the accommodation as soon as you arrive in the UK.
