Dear Vel, Today, a large majority of American Christians - TopicsExpress

Dear Vel, Today, a large majority of American Christians support our ally Israel. But there is reason to fear for the future. For the past few years, weve been watching the millennial generation of Christians (now in their 20s and 30s) with increasing concern. Evidence is mounting that this generation is quickly abandoning this traditional support for Israel. Anti-Israel Palestinian Christians and their American sympathizers are successfully promoting a millennial-friendly narrative to reach this rising generation of Christians and win them to their cause. As a result, were now seeing more young Christian leaders becoming outspoken critics of the Jewish state. We will not allow propaganda and lies to trick our young people into promoting a hateful agenda. In order to push back against this effort, we have launched an ambitious effort to share the truth about Israel with this generation. Since we began this effort on September 1st, we have sent over 60 millennial leaders on fact-finding missions to Israel. We have five more such missions planned in the coming months. We are very happy to report that these first two trips have been great successes. The trip participants typically came to us with all of the concerns about Israel they and their peers are being taught. But after a week of meeting with the people who actually live in Israel -- Jews, Christians and Muslims alike-- they returned home determined to support Israel and armed with the facts to do so. Out truth can defeat the anti-Israel lies. Here are some examples of their testimony.... Until visiting, I did not truly grasp the threats that Israel faces, all the while Israel cares for and looks out for the people who seek them harm. Throughout all of our meetings, a consistent thread was the Israelis respect for life and human dignity- that was an encouragement to me and reminder to do what’s right and what is God’s will, no matter what the pressure is. But the gravity of the threats to Israel, became very real to me and helped me to realize Israel’s need for support and partnership. I could probably write an entire book on our trip, but I hope to continue sharing my experiences through my personal blog. I am truly grateful to Christians United for Israel for this life-changing experience.- Bethany from Washington D.C. For me as a Christian it was special to walk where Jesus walked 2,000 years ago, but it was also life-changing to walk in the shoes of the Jewish people today. I wont soon forget the greenish-colored tint of bullet proof glass windows for those homes facing the West Bank, or the sound of the Syrian military bombing ISIL forces just a few kilometers away. Israel is a shining city on a hill surrounded by darkness. Can there be any doubt the world would be a safer, more prosperous place if the Arab nations shared Israels values? All advocates of justice, peace, pluralism and liberty ought to stand with Israel. Eric from Washington D.C. The future of the Christian support for Israel is on the line. If we do our job today, America will continue to stand with Israel in the future. If we fail, we fear for the future of Israel and America. The truth is on our side. Please help us share this truth with more young Christian leaders.
