Dear all......and I mean all, as this story has been shared across the United States. This is a picture of Calebs tree, and plaque at the base of it, taken in 2012. As I have told many of you......this tree and Calebs cat, (which I still have) are the only living representations of Caleb that we have/had. To see this beautiful thing cut down in pieces and laying in a pile behind a fence, was only another death to us. Many of you can understand this and many of you wont. For those of you who dont understand......I hope you never will. Do I think this could have been handled differently? Yes. Do I think the school district sent out extensive feelers throughout the school and community? No. However, Mr. Wilders words were sincere. Perhaps when they removed Calebs plaque, a note should have been attached to the tree indicating its representation. I just want ALL of you to know, how much I appreciate your love and support for this sad issue!! As in 2006, you have wrapped your arms around us.......We are so blessed!!! I just hope all of the previous memorials, plaques, benches, picture etc. have been kept safely to be displayed when construction is completed.
