Dear beloved, Does your service to God come before your devotion? Change now! 2 Cor. 8:5 And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God. They gave themselves first! You might have been serving God with your resources,- talents, time, gifts, money, strength, prayer, worship, etc. But what does the Lord your God requires of you? God is more interested in pursuing personal and intimate love relationship with you than your service. God wants your heart before opting for your hand! The early disciples were called to stay with him and then offer services. Your service to God should be an outflow of your life. Service is not a substitute for devotion to God. Irrespective of the position you are occupying today in your assembly or you are desiring to occupy; if God has not won you over to himself, your service is an abomination to God (Proverbs 11:20 (NKJV 20 Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the LORD, But the blameless in their ways are His delight) Friends, pastors, brothers are seeing your great hand and activities but God is looking forward to your pure heart. Are you trying to bribe God with your service, talent, money, administration? Your being an usher, security man, choir leader, preacher, evangelist is good but God takes more delight in your personal devotion to Him. God condemned Saul for putting service before God [1 Samuel 13:11-13 And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash; [12] Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the Lord: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering. [13] And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever]. Jesus condemned Martha for putting service before Him (Luke 10:40-41) God commended devotion before service in Matthew 6:33. Paul commended the Macedonians churches for devotion before service (2 Cor. 8:5) Is your service to God more important than your devotion to Him? Re-order your decision so that you will not end like Saul. Have you met Jesus? Are you born again? Are you living right? This is the beginning of your journey into standing for God and godliness, abandoning your self-willed and hold to God’s will. Confess your sins to him and repent of them. He is waiting for you. Jesus Christ is waiting for you to cleanse you of all your sins, give you power to live an obedient life and set you free from compromising spirit. Will you give Him the chance? AFTER THIS, YOUR SERVICE WILL BE ACCEPTED BY GOD DO NOT ALLOW THIS MESSAGE TO DIE WITH YOU, SHARE IT WITH OTHERS, AND RESCUE A SOUL TODAY!
