Dear friends of EFPSA, We are excited to write to all of you - TopicsExpress

Dear friends of EFPSA, We are excited to write to all of you again but at the same time surprised by how fast the time is passing by. Its the middle of June and we have stepped into the second month of our mandate - it feels like it was just yesterday when we came back from the Congress! The beginning of the mandate is a stressful and overwhelming period for everyone in EFPSA and that especially applies to the Board of Management. The last month has been busy for us as a team, and also each one of us individually; we have all, at some point, felt overwhelmed with our studies and work. Some days were a real struggle in which we tried to balance studying, EFPSA work, sleeping and having a social life, but in the end we managed to do what we had planned, and found fullfillment in all of our projects. Theres not enough space to list everything we have been working on, but here are the short updates since our last postcard. The last month has been primarily focused on preparing the Action Plans for the mandate. As a Board of Management, we prepared one for each member of the team and the rest of the teams in EFPSA also made their own. An Action Plan is a document that contains projects each team is planning to work on during the mandate, the estimated timeframes of each project and the people and teams involved in each project. They are essential for the efficient functioning and coordination of the work, for transparency of the organisation both internally and externally, and to show our engagement with EFPSA’s long-term Strategic Planning. Numerous meetings have been held and numerous discussions have taken place, and we can proudly say the Action Plans are nearly finished and we are looking forward to fulfilling them together with our teams. The Member Representatives (legislative body) are preparing to make some important decisions in the first E-Voting for this mandate. The voting is going to open later this month and the Member Representatives will have one week to select their decisions. During May and the first few days of June, we published several Calls, but we would especially like to emphasise the Call for Task Forces and Call for participants of Train the Trainers Summer School in Slovenia this August. The Call for Task Forces has introduced two new Task Forces we are very excited about; the Research & Internship Platform and Statutes & Domestic Regulations Revision Task Force. Thanks to everyone who showed interest and sent their applications - the final decision and selection of Task Force members will be completed soon. If you have recently checked our website or Facebook page you will notice that the TtT call for participants is open until 22nd of June (efpsa.org/2014/06/02/call-for-participants-for-the-train-the-trainers-summer-school/). So hurry and apply to embark on the adventurous journey of an EFPSA Trainer! The ESS Team have had a challenging job with the selection of participants from a pool of strong and engaged applicants for European Summer School which is only a month away. They also published the Spring Newsletter and the preparations for a guaranteed unforgettable week in Austrian Alps are in their final stage. We are all eagerly looking forward to more updates from Austria and wish the teams the best of luck in their final steps of preparation. Last but not least, the Journal of European Psychology Students presented the second Journal of European Psychology Students Special Edition of the Work in Progress (WiP) reports of the Junior Researcher Programme! You can find it here: jeps.efpsa.org/issue/view/9 . Besides all the work with Member Representatives and with the BM, Alex, Member Representatives Coordinator, attended the IFISO Spring Meeting in Utrecht from 29 May to 1 June on behalf of EFPSA, and came back full of great impressions and with exciting updates. We are looking forward to collaborating with different student organisations and we hope to learn something from each one of them and contribute as much as we can. On the way back from the meeting, Alex stopped off and met with some of the MRs and EB members in Belgium and refilled himself with another dose of the contagious EFPSA spirit - until the next encounter with EFPSA volunteers. Inevitably, next month will bring us more work and more challenges, but as each day goes by we are settling into our roles further, becoming more efficient, bonding together as a team, and having that positivity in mind, we can do nothing, but look forward to it all with excitement and great enthusiasm. Sincerely, Mariyan, Spyra, Mirna, Jayne, Ana, Tajana and Alex efpsa.org/2014/06/14/second-postcard-from-the-board-of-management/
