Dearest colleagues, Just a friendly reminder that the milk - TopicsExpress

Dearest colleagues, Just a friendly reminder that the milk cartons should be put back in the fridge the right way round, with the front label showing outwards. Ive noted 17 separate instances in the past two weeks in which Ive discovered and had to rectify this problem. Im not sure if this is a practical joke, or someone being deliberately malicious. I find it hard to believe that, after the rigorous hiring process all Stackswell employees must go through, there would be people ignorant enough to not understand the importance of a well-organised refridgerator. I will briefly elaborate on three ways in which this affects company productivity. 1) The back side of the milk carton is blank, which means that employees may not be aware of its contents. An employee may spend a longer time looking for milk to go with their tea or other warm beverage, which reduces their effective hours at work. 2) The facilities management people who stock the kitchen may not notice that we already have milk, as they do not immediately see the easily recognisable label due to its inversed placement in the refridgerator. If they then purchase more milk than required and excess milk goes off, the company has unnecessarily wasted valuable resources. 3) When mis-placed like this, the handle is on the opposite side of the container. This inconsistency frustrates the innocent regular milk-drinkers who should be able to have a reasonable expectation that the handle is on the right side of the container. When the handle is on the left side, it is possible that someone may reach for the handle, hit their hand against the carton or the door and injure their wrist. This amounts to an OH&S hazard and could incapacitate an employee. I hope that if you are the individual or one of the individuals responsible (I have not yet been able to determine whether this is the doing of a group of colluders or just one lone wolf), that you now understand the detrimental effect your acts have had on your hard-working peers and the risks that you are selfishly placing on them. I have discussed this with HR and apparently it is not an issue they will take action on despite the fact that I provided them with graphical evidence. If necessary, I will not hesitate to take this to senior management. Best regards, Jeremiah Dickinson Assistant Sales Support Officer
