December 6, 2014. CYCLE-LIFE UPDATER: (for Saturday) Twenty minutes in the late afternoon to the McOffice. Three times ten minutes on the elliptical. Total ellipti-time: 30 minutes. Slept seven and a half hours. WOW ! Must be in process of filling a deep deficit because all the great Saturday morning to-do-ideas fell by the wayside. Napped several times. Breakfast of rice with sautéed onion, ham and mushrooms. Excellent. Accepted the challenge of solving the Wind-Blackberry debacle. Several hours invested. The fun part is getting to know the 9700 again. Set up an old monitor and a CD player to watch while on the elliptical. Found the right combination of systems and it works great. Looks like the clean-up effort continues-slow-sure. Cant watch a movie unless the elliptical is humming with big-guy-leg-power. Sounds good. Looks good. Met a guy sitting in my spot at the McOffice. Bizarre-interesting. White hair, maybe fifty, hunched over his lap-top, eyes about three inches from the screen. Had a regular sized keyboard in use over the original. Could understand this. Not sure how the conversation started but the invitation was accepted a little too quickly. This country is in big trouble. OK. Never watch TV news. They never tell you everything. Leave out 90 percent. OK. Couldnt agree and he did have a willingness to listen BUT too long a pause and more of the same; he stayed loud-insistent. approaching annoying. Same volume for stories about Russian conspiracies, American atrocities hidden-untold, Israeli atrocities. I use the internet. Talk to the newsmakers, Russians say they are coming after the Canadians. I will not be here. Moving to Ireland to get away from all this stuff. The phone rang. Mom, I am leaving right NOW. Still same volume. Have to go. Nice meeting you. This exchange piqued the imagination. This could easily be any of us-me-you. One tragedy-mishap-slip-step and a lack of life-meaning forces the intellect to create improbable-impractical-late-life pursuit. If this guys energy had a little direction, he could be interesting-productive, maybe brilliant. But left alone with only conspiracy-consuming-crap, probable-terrible outcome. Read some Hillman, Imagination, made some notes, decided to undo the planned grocery store visit. Too much money in the pocket to resist a crap-food-buy. Leafs are a good reason to celebrate on any day. Pedaled home in the dark a little sad and whiney.
