Developing World class public transport facility is the only way of reducing fuel consumption in the nation.... Moreover, once people start preferring public transport over private transport... The government can lay down rules to ensure that only those who comply with the security and quality standards are allowed to market their products in India that will help to save lives as focus would be more on producing automobiles with the best safety features unlike the present automobiles which are cheap and make travellers vulnerable in case of accidents... Further to ease traffic, the govt can then tax people heavily for using private vehicles during the weekdays for certain areas..and concessional rates for weekend use! .....
