Did you know? Popcorn is non-GMO. Naturally occurring traits found - TopicsExpress

Did you know? Popcorn is non-GMO. Naturally occurring traits found in popcorns and the ancient grain teosinte make it difficult for GM pollen to enter the corn silks, thus preventing cross-pollination. The trait is known as gametophytic incompatibility or Ga1S. It’s not a perfect system, but it greatly reduces the risk of out-crossing. Be sure to check the packaging for other ingredients such as canola, soybean, cottonseed or corn oils, sugar and other added ingredients which would most likely be GMO if theyre not non-GMO verified or certified organic. Its movie night!
