Did you know? When we heard the Warren Housing Authority had received an award we contacted them to see what it was all about. What we received was an invite to come and meet with the Executive Director. We were warmly received from the moment of our arrival and when we left it was decided to start a monthly “column” called Housing Matters here on our page. We spent almost two hours with them and left feeling as though we could have spent all day. We will definitely be going back! In the meantime, let’s get to our first “Housing Matters” with the announcement of their receiving an Honorable Mention for the 2014 Best Practices & Housing Authority Risk Retention Innovation Awards. Quoted in the letter from the HAI Group: “Please be aware this should be a great source of pride for you and your staff for your innovative efforts to improve safety and the living conditions for residents living in public housing”. Being honored for their series called “Ask the Chief” , a safety and security forum with Chief Al Galinelli, which was initially started due to a small kitchen fire. They have had two of these forums and plan on having more. Thank you again to Executive Director Carol Anne Costa ( and to the staff ) for allowing us to come in & we look forward to bringing more to our readers about all the wonderful programs the Warren Housing Authority offers.
