Discipline; Today’s Behavioral Concern Allan Pelong Rogan Gulay Elmira Albano “Morally Decayed. Intellectually Malnourished. Emotionally corrupted.” Above words define every individual now . Today’s happening explicitly explains that we are now under the verdict of the future, where an imperfect world of infallible human being prevails. This is perfectly engineered and architected by every individual. It is a perplexing situation that puts the citizen of the Philippines into a turbulent catastrophe. Many circumstances has drastically unfolded; drama situation, kidnapping, rape, wanton portrayal, and any other immoral scenario. Why is this happening? What’s the cause of this? A censure is to whom? The latest dramatic scene in the Philippines was the exchanging of gun clash with the government forces against MNLF groups .The gun battle commenced on September 9, 2013 at Zamboanga city where hundreds of residence there were affected, few were killed, several were being raped , and other were trapped on the rising turmoil battle . This was lead by Habier Malik- an MNLF leader. The issue was because the latter were claiming for their independence over a certain jurisdiction, rising their flag and marching a peace rally . Why are they doing this? Fighting for a cause? Is this their way of pacifying their silent scream, legitimating brutal attacks? Are they aware to what may be the impact of it? Why not making this through the medium of brotherhood or a system of camaraderie? Is this perfectly impossible for them to do? If they are fighting for a cause then why are they living a scars to the people? Are they wanted to be judge by the history? Some MNLF don’t fight for a cause. They are fighting radically for their own gain, personal interest and for their belief or ideology .They are unaware of the concept of discipline. Killing amidst the cry of the poor, hostaging a dozen of helpless-innocent people, sniping an armless person . What’s next? Is this their way of extending their message to the public for their independence or is this a way of addressing their purpose? Psychologically, it’s a blunder. The censure to governments is that why they can’t address such? When are they going to stop this? When nothing is to be done? Yes, it’s not that easy to address such problem but that is their prime duty.They are well-oriented on the ground of how they are going to entertain such havoc . What is happening now is a grotesque display and this affect us globally and economically. This may put the economic of the Philippines into financial collapse. The bloodbath drama situation could affect the face of Zamboanga as a “CITY OF FLOWER ‘’ and as a ‘’LATIN CITY OF THE SOUTH “. Kidnapping would be a reason why foreigners will not come to Philippines anymore. This is a sort of brutal blow of axe in the neither candid nor dorsal of Filipino integrity causing them to be consternated, living hanging and waiting on the ground for the installation of hopes. The flagrant circumstances dictates that we are now in the state of needing an expensive weapon that could ruin the building blocks of problems, that would combat the existence of the eye of the storm and would unlock the chain of problems . What could be the possible solution to all? That’s a major question that is so simple yet deemed to be difficult. DISCIPLINE... Discipline could be the possible solution to all. This is the greatest weapon that we could have, an effective sword that could slice the toughest rock and a non-putrid system that could open a door of opportunity in achieving progress. It could cleanse the dirty atmospheric area of the Philippines. Generally, what happening right now could be considered a cancer disease where it has reached its terminal stage, where the needs of antibiotic preoccupy. Discipline could be an expensive antibiotic to cure current circumstances. A nation without discipline is like a television set without an antenna, we can’t get a clearer vision of progress unless we install discipline . If only government will use their trenchant wits and provincial mentality to the different striking genre of problems maybe a hint of close quarter achievement would be developed. There must be a discipline if we want a change in our country. This could be an instrument for the transmittion of the wavelength of progress into reality . Living one day at a time with a foreseeing eye and with the will to survive, armored with Discipline, surely, it would be no longer a behavioral concern but a channel that signals the progress not just to our country but to the whole world .As Muhammad Ali Jinnah said “With faith, discipline and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile that you cannot achieve “. If we will not going to wear the garment of discipline now, when do you think?
