Disclaimer: I will not debate this; I am merely offering my current understanding. If you can not contain hijacking my threads, please feel free to unfriend me. I see Cosmology used again here in parable form, as I do throughout the scriptures. Of course I believe God created all that exists; in its natural (physical) state, but this creation story in Genesis; while using language from the actual creation itself, is sending a deeper significance and meaning. 1st Corinthians 15:46 Howbeit that not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. I believe this relates to our understanding or comprehension; we grow up in human bodies, bound to sensory perception and we first understand the physical things of this world, long before we grasp their spiritual message, counterparts and meaning. How many times in scripture do we see water being used to represent people? God separating the waters here reminds me of the story of the Tower of Babylon where God scattered (separated/divided) the people apart from each other. Im not exactly on-board or walking in lock-step with those of and in the Covenant Creation meld, but I believe it to be fool-hardy to believe that a book filled with signs, symbols, parables and allegories, somehow began this practice after some story that is supposedly about material creation. I do believe the language in the creation story uses that actual creative message but that it is not what this creation story is about. This belief alone has caused many to chide, unfriend and/or even disassociate relations with me but I must walk my own road and go with what I presently understand until something comes along that demonstrates an alternative to be true and factual.
