Do you all remember the old ice cream store in Sand Springs, when you were a kid, back in the 50s? Well, was that homemade ice cream in that shop? Just a question that I came up with tonite. That ice cream had to be some of the best ice cream that I have ever had! My Dad would line us up in a row and ask us what flavor that we wanted. I think that we changed our mind every week and we were a rowdy bunch of kids. I dont know how the guy behind the counter would deal with us. Occasionally, my Dad would get strawberry, as that was the only flavor that he liked. My fave was chocolate! Dad didnt always get ice cream there. I asked him why he took us there, if he didnt want ice cream. He said, I do this for your Mom. She loves ice cream and I know that it makes her happy! It was one of the last things that I was able to tell my Mom before she passed away. It made her smile. Such a fun, family memory to hold on to forever! :)
