Do you want to be a writer? Oh yeah, why not? Today I dont want to talk about politics, coz our brains are teemed with it. I like to talk about how to be a writer or novelist. Though what I try to tell you is a drop in an ocean, still it will somewhat do. First, if you do want to be a writer or novelist, you should be a well-read person; otherwise, you cant. What if you work full-time, and you have always wanted to write a novel or a book? I am certain you tell yourself, writing takes a lot of time. Then that feeling makes you give it up. Giving up is wrong. You have to GET REAL. That is what John Grisham, one of the best novelist in America, did. He really got real, meaning he practiced the real way that things get accomplished: one step at a time. While he worked full-time as an attorney, he possessed the dream of writing a novel. Although many people in that situation would let their dream perish, Grisham went the way of the ant. That is, he got up a little earlier each morning and wrote a little bit. Slowly, one page at a time, over a period of three years, A time to Kill, was completed. Since then tens of millions of books were sold and became an unbelievable phenomenon of publishing history. What was the secret? Talent? Of course talent played an important role in it. But, you dont have to forget that the principle of one brick at a time is really crucial. He wrote a few paragraphs each day, before too long he had a book. This step is so substantial. Just take a look at a flower, if the flower owned the all-or-nothing attitude, it would cut itself down after the first week. Are you able to see it growing? Of course, You are not, for the steps are way too much small to be seen. But give the flower a couple of weeks and see what will happen. This is the method utilized by anyone who has ever done anything great, since this is the way how our life is designed. Things grow one little bit at a time, and it all adds up. Thus, Grisham says wanting it all keeps you from having any. If it doesnt work, you can try something else. Me
