Doing what is Right even when It Hurts...how many of us have been in relationships prior to knowing Christ, and when confrontation comes we fight for what we want. Whether that is having the emotional upper hand, ensuring our point gets heard, or simply having the final word. In order to make ourselves feel better. But then when we get saved, and receive the miracle working power that comes with the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we no longer are pressed to prove our point; even when it hurts us emotionally. Now although we know to Hold Our Tongues is a miracle in itself; to intentionally humble ourselves when those we are in relationship are intentionally trying to mock us, but more importantly God, we can become very angry. It becomes one of the hardest things to do; crucify the flesh, its will and intent to contradict the work of the cross that Jesus Christ is trying to shape our hearts and lives into. But it is the best actions of humility that we can ever demonstrate when it comes to honoring God and allowing for our lives to be used of Him. Of course we would think it is better, even when we know we are right, to prove others wrong. The greater victory that we share in the cross is not to focus on whos winning or losing an earthly fight, when the real goal should be in winning their hearts to God by showing humility. Do what is right, acceptable, pleasing and God honoring and not only will we win, but the lives of those we are fighting with will be changed as well; even when it hurts! - Coach Mason Psalms 15:1-5 NLT Who may worship in your sanctuary, LORD? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill? Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the LORD, and keep their promises even when it hurts. Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever.
