Domestic Violence is REAL!! I survived and got out because of one particular person that helped me see the mess that I was really in. She was a marriage counselor, counseling us as a couple after my Narcistic ex had an affair. I was in denial about the true abuse going on, I was beat down emotionally, spiritually and physically... and she truly helped me to see that I indeed was suffering from battered womens syndrome and that I needed to leave immediately!!! That ONE person gave me the strength and courage I needed!! It is a vicious cycle that often ends in the victim being maimed or even death. If you know someone that is in an abusive situation, please offer help in any way you can...offer a place to stay, an ear, to document for them, to report, to testify, to refer..anything you can...it really just takes ONE person to change or save a life!!!
