Okin as he discusses his forthcoming book, Silent Voices: People with Mental Disorders on the Street. Dr. Okin spent two years with the homeless of San Francisco, photographing and listening to their stories. He will talk about the circumstances in their lives that drove them to the streets, deinstitutionalization, how they manage the stresses of homelessness, and what interventions are needed to help them. Dr. Okin will also describe his own personal journey in meeting and talking to the people who became the subjects and contributors to his book. Date: Monday, September 15 (TODAY!)
