Dr. Milabel Ho is Outstanding Professional of the Year The President of Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) Dr. Milabel Ho has been awarded as the Outstanding Professional of the Year by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) during its 40th Anniversary at the Manila Hotel recently. Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho was the first Zamboangueña recipient of the Outstanding Professional of the Year award being given by the commission nationwide. In an interview, Dr. Ho expressed elation for choosing her as the recipient of the award as she vows to continue to practice professionalism in leading the WMSU community. The PRC held its weeklong activity in connection with their 40th anniversary and the awarding of the Outstanding Professionals in the different field of discipline was the highlight of the activity. Dr. Ho personally received the Outstanding Professionals in the field of nursing award in Metro Manila Last June 20, 2013. She said that the award was a prestige, not only for herself but for the WMSU community, as she considers that moment as a historic event. The event was graced by His Excellency Benigno S. Aquino III with other dignitaries present were former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos, Senator Manny Villar, who was also an awardee, Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, Senator-Elect Cynthia Villar, former Secretary Joey Lina, PRC chairperson Teresita Manansala, PRC Commissioner Jennifer Manalili, PRC Asst. Commissioner Aristogerson Gesmundo. The PRC has 46 professions under its watch and only 31 professions have qualified for the award this year. The awardees were se thru their respective accredited professional organizations. Dr. Ho was awarded for her determination and tenacity in leading the university towards her dream of renewing the academic landscape of the WMSU and move to excellence. As a registered nurse for more than three decades and the 5th president, she is the 1st nurse president of WMSU, where her profound commitment, dedication, and her strong sense of leadership as a nurse-educator and administrator is her weapon to provide better education for the WMSU students.
