Due to community concern and an impending bad weather forecast for Halloween night, Trick or Treat on the Square and the Annual Costume Contest has been moved to Friday, Nov. 1. Trick or Treat on the Square will begin at 5 p.m. and run until roughly 7:30 p.m., or until participating shops run out of candy. The costume contest will commence at 6 p.m. at the Gazebo. There will be four age categories - infant to 4 years, 5 to 11 years, 12 to 17 years, and 18 and older. The contest will be judged by Pam Wiggins of the Watertown Library, Ann Larese of 204 Fitness, 4th of July parade coordinator Jenny Corey, and a guest judge from Lulu’s Coffe House & Cafe. The contest will be emceed by Watertown Mayor Michael Jennings. Cash prizes and certificates of recognition will be awarded to each winner of the contest. The annual costume contest is sponsored by Vance Law Office, located at 214 Public Square, Watertown.
