During his visit to Fort Campbell last week, Sergeant Major of the Army Raymond F. Chandler attended the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalions monument dedication ceremony held Sept. 4, 2014, at Fort Campbell, Ky. The 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion, also known as the triple nickel, was the nation’s first all-black parachute infantry battalion. They chose Fort Campbell to dedicate their monument because of their historical connection to the 11th Airborne Division that was stationed at Camp Campbell. We are proud to have these Soldiers for Life call Fort Campbell home. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Candice Funchess) Air Assault!
