During our initial forays (with Jervis James Cruz Calapre) into - TopicsExpress

During our initial forays (with Jervis James Cruz Calapre) into this potentially rich birding site, we found a pair of Hair - Crested Drongos building a nest on a tree right beside the barangay road. We talked with some of the barangay folks to protect the birds from poachers (turned out, some of them were hunters themselves) as they are nesting on a site that was so accessible. We ended up following the nesting cycle of this family. Jimmy Javier came when their nest was almost done and among its last visitors was Fr. Auckhs Enjaynes. The drongo was dotingly watching over its hatchlings by then. So now, with the looming arrival of the monsoons, the offsprings are now fledged and in a few days ready to fly. Hopefully, I can make a few trips back to see them take their first flight. Hair-Crested Drongo fledglings Anahao, Bontoc, So. Leyte 06.07.14
